Tesla and Safety Issues

Investors should be wary of safety issues in the Model S line which threaten profitability. Recent news reports indicate that the Tesla Model S cars have potentially life-threatening design issues. Recently, Tesla was forced to recall certain Model S vehicles manufactured between May 31, 2012 and November 12, 2015 when it was discovered that certain vehicles were equipped with driver or front passenger seat belts that may have been improperly connected. Also, lithium batteries installed in the Model S have resulted in fires which destroyed vehicles on two separate occasions. The autopilot software in the Model S is also coming under scrutiny after a fatal auto accident involving the driver of a Tesla Model S and a tractor-trailer.
